What to Expect

When you arrive at Crossroads, the main entrance to the sanctuary is the double glass doors across from the playground and lined with trees.  You will find a friendly, somewhat casual atmosphere.  You will be greeted by folks from our congregation and offered a bulletin for the morning’s service.  We offer coffee and tea at the ‘coffee corner’ which you will see once inside the doors.  Starting at 9:45 am (15 minutes before the beginning of the service) we have slides rolling on the screen which is a way for us to communicate upcoming events, announcements, celebrations and more.  Feel free to get a cup of coffee and have a seat or mingle with others just arriving.  The service starts promptly at 10:00 am with a warm welcome and a reading from God’s Word.  Then we move into musical worship and our tithe offering.

Kids, pre-school to 6th grade will be invited to their classrooms following the offering and musical worship time.  (Parents of kids ages pre-school through 4th grade, please accompany your children to their classrooms and sign them in).  If you have a younger child (age birth – 2), you are welcome to check them into our nursery as early as 9:45 am where they can stay for the entire service.  All people that care for our infants and kids are well known to our congregation and have undergone a thorough background check.  They all love children and want to be a light for Jesus!

Between our 10:00 am and 11:30 am services, we enjoy a time of fellowship in the east bay of our sanctuary.  The 1st and 4th Sundays, you will find cookies, bread and other treats along with coffee and tea.  The 2nd Sunday you will experience ‘Arroz Con Leche’ – homemade rice pudding with a twist and the 3rd Sunday of each month is ‘Pancake Sunday’.  We hope you’ll join us during this time of fellowship – it’s a wonderful way to get to know people in our congregation.

Our Affiliation

We are members of the Evangelical Covenant Church which is a denomination of more than 800 churches in the United States and Canada. It was founded by Swedish immigrants in 1885 as a voluntary fellowship of churches committed to working together to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Covenant churches emphasize the Bible’s witness to new life in Jesus Christ expressed in a day to day walk with the Lord. The Evangelical Covenant Church seeks to form and nurture communities that are deeply committed to Jesus Christ and passionately engaged in Christ’s mission in the world.

Crossroads Covenant Church and the denomination it belongs to affirm:

  • the centrality of the Word of God
  • the necessity of new birth in Christ
  • a commitment to the whole mission of God’s Church
  • the Church as a fellowship of believers
  • a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit, and
  • the reality of freedom in Christ
  • If you’d like to know more about the Covenant Affirmations, you may read them in PDF format here.
